This quote by John Adams, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other," carries profound meaning and holds great importance in understanding the foundation of our republic. Adams, one of the founding fathers of the United States, was expressing his belief that the successful functioning of the Constitution relies on the virtuous and ethical nature of the people it governs. In a straightforward interpretation, Adams is highlighting the necessity for a moral compass and religious principles in the individuals who govern and are governed. He suggests that a constitution alone, no matter how well-crafted, cannot secure the stability and prosperity of a nation without the active participation of virtuous citizens.
Ben Franklin was asked when leaving the first Constitutional convention where the framers of the Constitution had just finished hammering out the details of what would become The Constitution for the united States, “What form of government have you given us”. His reply to her was “A republic, if you can keep it”. Yes, I did not capitalize united because States is the most important part NOT united. We were 13 States united to form a central government to represent the States.
The problem we find ourselves in today is that our Republic was abandoned February 21st 1871, by the Forty-First Congress and the united States of America became a corporation. I refer you to the “Acts of the Forty-First Congress,” Section 34, Session III, chapters 61 and 62. On this date, Congress passed an Act titled: “An Act to provide A Government for the District of Columbia.” This is also known as the “Act of 1871.” What does this mean? Well, it means that Congress, under NO Constitutional authority to do so, created a separate form of government for the District of Columbia, which is a ten-mile square parcel of land.
How could they do that? Moreover, WHY would they do that? To explain, let’s look at the circumstances of those days. The Act of 1871 was passed at a very vulnerable time in America. Our Nation was essentially bankrupt, weakened and financially depleted in the aftermath of the Civil War. Congress realized the country was on the brink of financial collapse, so a deal was made with an international banker, to lend our country funds to operate on. Of course, an ongoing loan of this magnitude did not come without collateral and the collateral was the people. I’m sure you have heard the expression in politics, “The full faith and credit of the American people”. This was the only collateral the bank would except, the peoples’ ability to repay. There is much more to cover on this topic, and I will in a different section, but it is note worthy to mention that our country did not have a central back at the end of the war and the Federal Reserve did not exist so we could not print our way out of debt like we try and do today. We plan on having a section on the Federal Reserve and banking as to explain in detail how it works, or I should say how it DOES NOT work.
In essence this is an over simplified way of understanding a corporation. If a corporation defaults on a loan or loan structure, the corporation itself is not liable, the collateral is and, in our case, WE are, and we have been since the Act of 1871. Think about it, all 50 States in America are incorporated as is every city, county and municipality. We, the taxpayers, are the collateral for every purchase made by any local, city, State or Federal agency as the full faith and credit of the American people. We for the most part do not vote on any expenditures; we are just responsible for the debt. How does that make you feel, like a free person or a slave to the corporation? So, the Act of 1871 formed a corporation known as THE UNITED STATES. Note the capitalization, because it is important. This corporation, owned by foreign interest and as of 1871 has been operating in disguise as the Republic that our forefathers gave us, their posterity. The original Republic has been left dormant since the Southern States’ contingent walked out of congress at the beginning of the Civil War and Congress was adjourned “sine die” (without a day), congress officially dissolved. They never had a lawful quorum, so they never lawfully reconvened as the congress for the republic of the united States. It was Lincoln ruling by decree (executive orders) back then which is the basis for all action since. The government has not been legitimated since the Civil War! We have had a corporation ACTING as the government since February 21st, 1871.
There is much more that needs to be brought to light for our readers on this subject. I plan on doing that in additional articles which will address the servitude this corporation has placed the American people under.
